10/11/2010 Armed Robbery in Hollywood - Drugs : On October 11, 2010 at approximately 7:20 p.m. deputies responded to a business parking lot in Hollywood, for a report of a robbery. Investigation revealed Davevon Lee Price, 17 of Hollywood, met the victim in the parking lot of the business. Price and the victim became involved in a verbal dispute over a narcotics transaction which escalated into a physical assault and robbery when Price struck the victim in the head with a revolver and stole the victim’s property. Price fled the scene prior to the arrival of deputies. Corporal Goodwin and K-9 Barry conducted a K-9 track and located a Smith and Wesson revolver along the roadside in the area of the business. Price was located a short time later at his residence in Hollywood. He was arrested and charged as an adult with robbery, first degree assault, second degree assault, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

10/5/2010 Tresspassing in Lexington Park : On October 5, 2010 Deputy Nielson observed Peggy Lynn Jones, 36 of no fixed address and Brenda J. Kemmer, 45 of Lexington Park, walking through Millison Plaza Shopping Center. Jones and Kemmer had been previously served with a notice not to trespass on the property of Millison Plaza. 9/30/2010 Armed Robbery at McKays : The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland. On September 30, 2010 at 10:00 P.M. two African American males, dressed in all black clothing and ski type masks, armed with an unknown make and model handgun, entered the McKay’s Food and Drug on Hollywood Road, Hollywood, Maryland and robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects fled in a dark colored, possibly dark green or black, sport utility style vehicle. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact Det./Dfc. R. 9/28/2010 More Lexington Park BS : On September 28, 2010 deputies responded to a residence on Great Mills Road in Great Mills, for a report of a trespasser. Investigation revealed Jason Michael Reintzell, 33 of Lexington Park, was causing a disturbance and asked to leave the residence. Reintzell initially complied and left but returned a short time later. Reintzell was arrested and charged with trespassing. As Deputy Gill was placing Reintzell in his patrol vehicle to transport him to the detention center for processing, Reintzell kicked the deputy. 9/25/2010 DWI : Authorities in St. Mary's County arrested a man Saturday night Sept. 25 around 8:30 p.m. after receiving a lookout for a vehicle driving in an unsafe manner and possible drunk driver. The driver of a 1970's Chevrolet Chevelle was located on Rt. 235 and subsequently pulled over in the parking lot of the Donut Connection in Lexington Park. A large dog exited the vehicle as the officer approached. The driver was told to exit the vehicle and place the dog in the back of the car, the driver complied. The driver exited the vehicle and appeared to be intoxicated. After exiting the vehicle, the driver was detained and placed in hand cuffs. The officer then asked the driver to perform a roadside sobriety test. Following the sobriety test, the driver was informed he was under arrest and to place his hands behind his back. The driver failed to obey the commands of the officer numerous times and proceeded toward the officers in an aggressive manner. The suspect was then tased by officers. EMS crews were called to the scene to check on the subject. Animal Control was called out to collect the animal. The driver has been identified as Kelven Eugene Johnson, 45 of Lusby. Johnson was charged with DUI, Resisting Arrest along with a few other traffic violations. 9/21/2010 Accident with 67 : Authorities in St. Mary's County are investigating a departmental crash involving one of their own officers. Rescue crews responded to report of a motor vehicle accident with injuries near the intersection of Pegg Road and Lexington Drive in Great Mills on Tuesday, Sept. 21 around 10:30 p.m. Crews arrived on the scene to discover two vehicles involved including a St. Mary's County Sheriff's Deputy and a Ford Explorer. Investigation revealed the deputy was travelling east on Pegg Road when the driver of the Ford failed to yield the right of way and struck the deputy. The deputy has been identified as Sgt. Harold Young. Sgt Young was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford was asked to perform a field sobriety test on scene. The driver passed the sobriety test and it appears drugs or alcohol were not a factor in this crash.

9/21/2010 Wal-Mart Theft : On September 21, 2010 deputies responded to the Wal-Mart in California, for a report of a theft. Investigation revealed Tina Louise Babcock, 26 and Bryant Mitchell Richardson both of Callaway, entered the Wal-Mart, placed numerous items of clothing into a black nylon bag and exited the store without paying for the items. Store security confronted Babcock and Richardson in the Wal-Mart parking lot. 9/6/2010 - 185 and 204 10-50 PI : On September 6, 2010 at approximately 7:45 p.m., St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s units were responding to a personal injury motor vehicle collision in the area of Three Notch Road and St. Jerome’s Road in Dameron. Preliminary investigation reveals vehicle #1, a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria operated by Deputy Scott Ruest was traveling northbound on Three Notch Road behind vehicle #2 a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria operated by Dfc. Michael George. Vehicle #3, a 2003 Honda Odyssey, was unoccupied and parked in the lot of the Dameron Post Office. As units arrived on the scene vehicle #1 collided with vehicle #2 and subsequently struck vehicle #3. Dfc. George was flown by Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 to Baltimore Shock Trauma. Deputy Ruest was transported via ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital. Both Deputies were treated and released from the hospitals. The motor vehicle collision, as well as an agency internal investigation is on going. “We are very fortunate the Deputies injuries were not as serious as originally believed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the deputies. We wish them both a speedy recovery.” (Sheriff Timothy K. Cameron)

9/2/2010 Stabbing in Lexington Park : Authorities in St. Mary's County are investigating a stabbing that has left one man injured. St. Mary's County Police along with rescue crews responded to the 46500 block of Valley Lee Court in Lexington Park for report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a woman identified as Mary Agnes Morgan, 40 of Great Mills, had stabbed the victim, a 46-year-old male in the back with a 12 inch butcher knife. The victim was conscious, alert and breathing as medics transported him to St. Mary's Hospital. Morgan fled the scene before police arrived and at this time her whereabouts are unknown.

9/1/2010 Barricade in Hollywood : On September 1, 2010 at approximately 11:35 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Halford Lane in Hollywood, for a check the welfare call. It was reported a 31-year-old male, armed with a firearm, was threatening to harm himself. As a result of the initial investigation it was determined a barricade situation existed. A perimeter was established and members of the St. Mary’s County Emergency Services Team, Critical Incident Negotiations Team and K-9 units were contacted and responded to the scene. The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Services Team also responded to the scene to assist. St. Mary’s County Critical Incident Negotiators made contact and spoke with the individual by phone. At approximately 2:50 p.m. he exited the residence, was taken into custody and transported to St. Mary’s County Hospital for an evaluation.

8/28/2010 Murder in Lexwood : On August 28 at approximately 4:30 a.m., police and emergency first responders were dispatched to Lexwood Court in Lexington Park for a reported shooting with serious injuries. The shooting victim was treated on the scene and Trooper 7 was called in to transport. However, the victim's condition was not stable enough to be flown and he was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with a serious gunshot wound to the face. Witnesses on the scene reported that a black male in his early 20's had been arguing with at least one other individual and was subsequently shot in the face. The victim was seen entering an apartment and the suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident. The Bureau of Criminal Investigations are investigating this shooting.
