The DC Generals, in the team's first home game of the season, defeated the Charlotte Cobras 14 to 6 with both teams playing very hard. The Cobras went up 6-0, scoring on their first drive of the game. After halftime the DC Generals stepped up the defense and offense. Defense shut down the Cobras and the DC Generals offense put up 14 unanswered points (with a "Smugs" fumble recovery in the endzone and George Cannida's short-yardage Rushing Touchdown) in the second half to win the game. Since its inception, the DC Generals football team remains undefeated at home with a record of three wins and only six points allowed. Now they just need to prove they can win an away game! The next home game will be May 10, 2008 at 1 pm vs. California Blue Nights.
